Happy Monday Saints.
Jesus said in Mark 11:25 that “IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST ANYONE, FORGIVE THEM.”
There’s no doubt, that forgiving others is a blessing. It releases you from the bondage of bitterness and it soothes your soul.
If you still haven’t been able to forgive others, it might help to know what forgiveness is NOT.
Firstly, forgiveness is NOT about removing the consequences of sin.
One of the reasons why the Lord gives us commandments to follow is for our own protection.
Sin causes problems, and whenever we or someone else sins, something is corrupted. Depending on the nature of the sin, there are some instances, where things will never be the same again.
If sin had no consequences at all, then sinning wouldn’t be a problem. But because of sin’s negative effects, the damage it causes can make forgiveness difficult to give.
Don’t confuse the resulting pain with unforgiveness. Your circumstances may not change straight away but you still have the power to forgive instantly.
The consequences of what went wrong may leave some scars and some permanent damage, but if you will forgive those who’ve sinned against you, the destruction won’t hold you back.
Be forgiving, live free and have a wonderful week in Christ.
God bless and lots’a love,
Warren.
