27 April 2023, Tafuna American Samoa. The Alalagafa Rugby Team were blessed with large McDonald’s meals and dessert before embarking on the Lady Naomi back to Upolu from American Samoa this afternoon.
Alalagafa is the Falealili District 7s team who arrived into American Samoa one week ago to participate in the 4th Vailima Marist Pago 7s over the weekend, claiming the 9th place trophy.
Players and Management enjoyed large Big Mac and Double Quarter Pounder meals, followed by dessert of apple pie and ice cream – as a special treat of Afioga Tautolo Charlie Tautolo – owner of the McDonald’s franchises in both Samoas.
McDonald’s Store Manager, Teofilo Magalo, who has been working for the American Samoa McDonald’s franchises for over 18 years, said they are happy to support the travelling team from Upolu.
“We heard Falealili Rugby had brought 23 players to American Samoa as part of its development program, so Tautolu reached out to the Hon Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo, to offer our support and provide lunch before the team departs on the ferry ride back to Upolu.

Toelupe is the elected Member of Parliament for Falealili and was instrumental in the team’s preparations and participation in the 4th Vailima Marist Pago Flag Day International Sevens tournament.

“Bringing our young players to experience the environment of an International event is part of our development,” said Toelupe.
“We hope to continue player development in the rural districts to provide opportunities for our sons.”
