(GOVT. PRESS SECRETARIAT) – Aeau Christopher Hazelman is the new Chief Executive Officer to lead the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture. (MESC).
A pragmatic educator of 29 years, Aeau’s wealth of experience includes working in Mission and Public schools as a teacher and leader.
For 13 years, Aeau served as Director of Catholic Education in Samoa from 2003-2016 after a decade of services as a teacher, Vice Principal and eventually Principal of the Catholic Senior College.
He joined the public service as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of the National University of Samoa in 2014 until 2021.
He graduated with a Bachelors of Art- Geography and Sociology from the University of the South Pacific, (USP) in 1993 and the following year completed his Postgraduate–Education also from USP.
His appointment is for three years.
