Happy Tuesday Saints.
1Peter 5:8 “BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; BECAUSE YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKS ABOUT LIKE A ROARING LION, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR.”
As Christians and as children of God, we have an enemy. The devil doesn’t just oppose God; he opposes EVERYTHING you do. He will do anything to stop you from praying, seeking God, reading the Bible, obeying God’s Word and fulfilling the Lord’s will for your life.
The Greek word translated “SOBER MINDED” also means “to be calm and collected in spirit; to be temperate.”
While a lot of stress and uncertainty surrounds us, we must do all we can to remain CALM AND COLLECTED IN SPIRIT. When we lose our peace of mind, and our tempers start to flare, we open ourselves up to the enemy who is SEEKING for the opportunity to DEVOUR God’s people.
As Covid-19 brings new pressures, anxieties, and burdens upon us, it has become increasingly necessary to draw closer to God.
No child is at peace like a child that rests in the loving arms of their mother. Likewise, when we are close to God, we are CALM AND COLLECTED IN SPIRIT.
The devil wants nothing more than to rob you of your peace. He wants to rattle your faith and shake your confidence in God. Why? Because he cannot DEVOUR anyone he wants.
Did you notice that the devil is roaming around seeking whom he “MAY” devour? He can only devour those who give him an opportunity. And nothing opens the door to him like anger and resentment.
A strong spirit is a CALM AND COLLECTED SPIRIT. And it’s one that we can all develop by spending time with God in prayer, renewing our minds with His Written Word, and feeding our Spirit with “EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.”
Saints, guarding our hearts with all diligence has never been more essential than it is today. Don’t be too busy to calm yourself in God’s presence and strengthen yourself with His Word.
Have a wonderful day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
