Happy Tuesday Saints.
Proverbs 18:24 “ONE WHO HAS UNRELIABLE FRIENDS SOON COMES TO RUIN, BUT THERE IS A FRIEND WHO STICKS CLOSER THAN A BROTHER.”
We’ve been looking at the importance of establishing authentic relationships and having friends with whom you can share all your concerns and vulnerabilities.
According to today’s verse, the wrong kind of friends will RUIN you. How? Their attitude and behaviour will inevitably become yours too.
As we saw yesterday, true friendships are rare. They are rare because they require a lot of time and effort. They need a commitment from two people who are willing to be transparent with one another without the fear of being rejected by the other.
Transparency requires honesty and humility. If you can’t be yourself and you have to pretend to be someone you are not, in order to be friends, then what you have is not genuine.
Don’t let the wrong friends shape you into becoming someone you don’t want to be.
Don’t let the fear of rejection prevent you from being yourself. And don’t let it stop you from building a genuine friendship with someone trustworthy, truthful and loyal. Having good friends is one of life’s greatest joys.
Have a great day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
