42 Year Old Man Charged with Murder in Saleimoa Tragedy

Translated from FaaSamoa. A 42 year old man has been detained and charged with murder following a tragic incident at one of the sub-villages of Saleimoa over the weekend.

Both men were found with high levels blood alcohol, said Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo.

A 56-year-old male was rushed to Motootua hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at the Tupua Tamasese Meaola (TTM) national hospital.

Preliminary findings of police is that a drunkard disagreement between the two men, both of Saleimoa village, led to the death of the 56 year old.

Both men are fathers and the tragedy has left the deceased man’s children fatherless while the accused faces imprisonment.

The accused has been remanded in custody until his first appearance on the 19th of February 2024.
