Manu Samoa 7s to Face New Zealand Again in Final Day of Perth 7s

Two teams from the Perth HSBC SVNS pool of death will face off in the 9th place final today at HBF Park.

Samoa played an epic pool match against their Kiwi Brothers on the first day of the tournament, with the match going into golden point.

Samoa were edged out by 17-12 and will look to get the equalizer today.

Manu Samoa 7s were edged out of a quarterfinal spot on Day 2 after losing to France 19-14 to another nail-biting pool match that had fans on the edge of their seats.

New Zealand had earlier lost to France by 33-17 on Day 1 of the pool matches.

Muliagatele Brian Lima’s boys are looking sharp and well conditioned on this first leg of the year.

Vaovasa Afa-Sua, Paul Scanlan and Melani Matavao have been demonstrating leadership by example, staying composed and focused under pressure with matches going into overtime in a tournament where all 12 teams are coming for the win.

Manu Samoa’s Uaina Sione and Neueli Leitufia have returned from injury and playing top quality footie again for their country.

Big Unit Taunuu Niulevaea has been crashing through opppsition defense, reliably taking 2 or 3 defenders with him each time.

Motu Opetai and BJ Telefoni are sharing the workload of the tallest forwards in the squad securing lineouts as well as high balls off the kick-off.
