7 Gold Medals for 17-year-old Lifter from Savaii, Leotina Sivelio Petelo!


12 July 2019, Apia Samoa. 17-year-old  Leotina Sive Petelo of Ululoloa, Salailua and Saleaula, Savaii dominated the 81kg Womens Division of Weightlifting scooping 7 gold medals in one afternoon.

The Faleata College Year 13 student won 3 Gold medals for the Pacific Games in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Overall Total. The other 4 Gold medals are for the Oceania and Commonwealth Championship comps.

The SWA Samoa Weightlifting Federation is hosting 4-in-1 International Competitions alongside the Pacific Games, allowing young Leotina to secure 2 Gold medals for the Oceania Championship and 2 Gold Medals for the Commonwealth Champs.

She is the 5th of Laufou Sivelio and Tasitolu Petelo’s six children.
