
Monday 27 July 2026 Vaitele Samoa. Two men were arrested by Police on Monday morning at around 10am infront of Lisa’s Store at Vaitele. The pair, who looked to be in their 30s, were handcuffed and taken into a Police bus.
Close to twenty police officer members of TOS – the Tactical Operation Section were seen in the area while two police walked the men onto the bus in the busy area.

The arrests were made infront of bystanders and members of the public, crowding in to take a look, with some taking video footage on their phones as police conducted their work.
Acting Police Commissioner Leiataua Samuelu Afamasaga confirmed to Samoa Global News that utensils and at least 50 marijuana sticks wrapped in foil, were confiscated from the two individuals.
“E faamaonia e to’alua sa taofia mai, maua ai mariuana meatotino e ula ai..
“E silia ma le 50 pulu mariuana na maua i ia alii,” said Leiataua.
According to Leiataua, they had received reports that the pair were selling marijuana in this particular area of Vaitele, disguised as street vendors.
“Sa maua mai lipoti e faaaoga e ia alii le vaega lea o Vaitele e tulei ai le mariuana.”

Last week the Samoa Police posted photos of more than 30 individuals arrested from a series of drug raids conducted over the past month.
Two of those arrested were local musicians with a popular following on social media.
Another two of those arrested were repeat offenders, whose mug shots had been posted from raids in late 2025.
The Samoa Police continue their fight against illicit drugs in Samoa with the backing of the Prime Minister who is also Minister of Police.
All public sector workers, including Members of Parliament, have been called to lead the battle against drugs by participating in voluntary drug testing.
