Son of Samoa Posolo Tuilagi from Fatausi and Fogapoa Savaii, has been called up to France’s squad ahead of their Six Nations opener against Ireland.

NBS is supporting Samoa’s Weightlifters on their 2024 Paris Olympic journey.

Son of former Manu Samoa International Tuilagi Henry Tuilagi, the Perpignan lock started his journey with the France Under 18s. He made his debut for the French Under 20s Six Nations in a match against England in March 2023.

A few months later, Tuilagi was named in the France U20 squad for the World Rugby U20 Championship and scored a brace in a 35–14 win over New Zealand.

Standing at 6’4½″ or 193cm tall and weighing 145 kilograms, the teenager dwarfs his father, ‘The Butcher’ Henry Tuilagi who made 10 appearances for the Manu Samoa and played club rugby in Italy, France and England.

Henry Tuilagi (L) and Pasolo Tuilagi (R) the 19 year old already dwarfs his father in build.

The Tuilagi family from Fogapoa Savaii have made a profound impact on global rugby and Posolo is the newest member to burst onto the global stage.

Posolo Tuilagi was born on 28 July 2004 in Samoa before moving to England where his father, Tuilagi Henry, then played for Leicester Tigers.

He arrived in Perpignan, France at the age of three with his parents. He grew up and was educated in Perpignan graduating from high school in 2023.

The U20 World Rugby Championship winner has been dubbed a destructive ball carrier and dominant tackler who looks set to fill the void left by the injury to Toulouse lock Emmanuel Meafou for the French.

Les Bleus will open their 2024 Guinness Six Nations campaign on February 2nd against reigning champions Ireland in Marseille.
