The Samoa Police launched a regional Cyber Safety Outreach Program at the TATTE Convention Centre on Sunday evening, uniting representatives from 11 Pacific countries including Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Nauru and the Cook Islands.
The initiative is a collective effort to combat the growing misuse of online platforms and websites for criminal activities.
Police will be targeting fake social media pages, privacy violations, cyber scams, drug-related offences and other serious crimes affecting communities across the Pacific region.
The official program featured keynote addresses by the Prime Minister of Samoa, Hon. La’aulialemalietoa Leuatea Polāta’ivao Fosi Schmidt, and the Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Samoa, H.E. Mr. Simon Dawkins.
The continued support of the Australian Federal Police and Cyber Safety Pasifika were acknowledged.
The event also celebrated the successful 15-year milestone of Cyber Safety Pasifika in promoting cyber awareness and online protection throughout the Pacific.

The launch was grounded in a strong spiritual foundation through prayers and messages led by Pastor Eric Poe and the Hosanna Christian Church of Samoa.
Pastor Eric Poe has been a long serving advocate of youth at risk and also founded Teen Challenge Samoa.
