03 August 2020. A 19 year old man was brutally beaten to death after a drinking session between friends at Fiaga turned violent over the weekend.
Police Commissioner Su’a Fuiavailiili Egon Keil confirmed that two men have been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the incident during the early hours of Sunday morning.

“It appears that the drinking started Saturday night. We responded after being notified at about 3am Sunday morning,” said Su’a.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim sustained blunt force trauma to his head and body”, added the Commissioner.
A Samoa Law Reform Commission report has found that over 70% of all murders, manslaughters and grievous bodily harm offences in Samoa, are committed under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
